When you inquire about a used tanning
bed for sale, ask why it is being sold and get the year, make, and
model. Is the tanning bed being sold by a business or by an individual?
Should you buy a used tanning bed? How do you go about
deciding? First, do the research, just as you would if you were
considering buying any pre-owned item, such as a car. Find out
everything you can about tanning beds so you will be well informed.
When you inquire about a used tanning bed for sale, ask why it is being
sold and get the year, make, and model. Is the tanning bed being sold by
a business or by an individual? Individuals often buy fitness items,
seldom use them, and end up selling them to free up space in their home.
In such a case, you might be lucky enough to get a relatively new
tanning bed at low cost. Or perhaps the owner is selling his tanning bed
because he needs the money, or the owner died and his family is selling
it because no one wants it. On the other hand, the owner may want to
sell it because it malfunctions or is obsolete. Maybe it uses bulbs that
are hard to find or are no longer manufactured.
If it is being sold by a business, it may have been heavily used. How
long have they had it? Are they going to replace it? If so, is it
outdated? Does it still meet safety standards and governmental
regulations? Is anything broken? You could replace a timer
inexpensively, for example, but other parts of a tanning bed would be
costly to replace or repair. You will also want to know if the tanning
bed has a warranty. If it does, check to see whether it is still good or
has expired so you can take this into account in your decision.
Do a search on the Internet or over the phone and compare prices. Become
well informed so that you’ll know whether a price is reasonable or not.
If the price of a used tanning bed is almost as much as a new one of the
same type, you might want to buy a new one. The price range for used
tanning beds varies widely. When comparing prices, find out why one
might legitimately cost more than another.
In one example, a used Sundash 26 and a Pro Sun 28 RBX were listed on
ebay for $1,999.00 used, while a used Sun Capsule 40 VH0 was offered for
$4,999.00, more than twice the amount. However, the Sun Capsule 40 VHO
was a later model that used UVA bulbs. UVA light is potentially less
harmful than UVB light. If you are concerned about exposure to UVB
light, check to make sure a lower price doesn’t mean it uses UVB bulbs.
Always ask about the type of bulb the tanning bed uses and whether the
bulbs are still manufactured and easy to order. Regardless, if you want
to buy a used tanning bed, you will want to check ebay, TanForLess, Open
A Tanning Salon, Tanning Beds Superstore, Salon Equipment Source, and
Tanningbeds4Less, among other sources.
