The use of high-pressure tanning beds
saves clients both time and money in getting and maintaining a tan.
Professional tanning salons offer high-pressure tanning
beds to meet the needs of their intermediate to advanced customers.
High-pressure tanning beds use the same principle as low-pressure
tanning beds: the light bulbs emitting ultraviolet light are aimed at
the body to stimulate the melanocytes to produce melanin and then to
cause oxidation of the melanin to darken the skin. However,
high-pressure tanning beds filter out most of the UVB light, decreasing
the risk of skin problems. They let in just enough light to stimulate
the melanocytes. Low-pressure tanning beds emit an equal, or nearly
equal, amount of UVA and UVB rays from their fluorescent lamps, exposing
the skin to more risk.
Using a low-pressure tanning bed, up to 15 sessions may be needed to get
a good base tan. About two sessions a week are needed to maintain it.
The higher the proportion of UVB rays, the faster the skin dries out.
Drying causes the skin to flake and peel and regenerate itself faster.
As a result, your tan doesn’t last as long as it would if you’d used a
high-pressure tanning bed. Since high-pressure tanning beds filter out
much of the UVB light, they reduce drying. Your skin will stay better
moisturized and hold a tan much longer.
It takes only 3 to 5 sessions in a high-pressure tanning bed to get a
good base tan. The tan also lasts longer and requires fewer sessions to
maintain. In fact, you only need 2 or 3 sessions a month to stay
glamorous! High-pressure tanning beds will no doubt become the premier
choice of the industry.
The use of high-pressure tanning beds saves clients both time and money
in getting and maintaining a tan. They are also safer, filtering out the
UVB rays that cause skin cancer and sunburn. Safety and economy is a
combination that is hard to beat.
Tanning beds are great for getting and maintaining a bronzed look no
matter what the season or weather. Tanning salons, just like spas and
beauty salons, have become a normal part of many people’s daily lives in
pursuing an attractive and healthy appearance. However, many people are
concerned about the long-term effects, such as skin cancer, to prolonged
exposure to ultraviolet light. In response, many tanning salons now
offer sunless tanning. Sunless tanning consists of using skin-darkening
cosmetics. These are usually sprayed on in a booth.
